Our Mission

We aim to provide the highest quality arts education programs to young people in the Capital Region of New York.

An award winning non-profit organization, Playhouse Stage Academy makes theatre an all-inclusive art form, accessible to people from all walks of life and socio-economic backgrounds both as audiences and as students. Our education programs provide a comprehensive quality musical theatre training while teaching valuable life lessons about collaboration and communication.

Equity in the Arts

We stand with those who fight for justice, peace and equity.

Playhouse Stage Academy aims to be a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace and learning space where every student, whatever their gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or disability feels valued and respected. PSA has never had a student unable to participate due to inability to pay and we believe socio-economic status should not dictate the ability to learn about and create art. We aim to break down barriers to entry, and want for every student to be able to receive an arts education both in the classroom and in the theater. Our commitment to our community: we will do all we can, from play selection, to casting and educational programming, to ensure that our stages, audiences and classrooms are places of diversity and inclusion with equitable treatment for all. For those interested in supporting advocacy for BIPOC theatre artists, we urge you to explore Broadway for Racial Justice.
